Direct Access
Our Direct Access barristers welcome instructions from individuals, partnerships, companies, LLPs, unincorporated associations, local authorities, government departments, and any other entities. We are committed to representing, advising, and assisting you across various areas of law.
How to Instruct a Barrister
Instructing a barrister directly is a straightforward process. Simply fill in the contact form, and a member of our team will promptly reach out to you to discuss your requirements.
Advantages of Direct Access:
- Cost and Efficiency: We provide cost-effective solutions by offering advice, drafting documents, and representing you in court, tribunals, or mediations. Our barristers can also negotiate on your behalf and attend meetings without prejudice.
Is Your Case Suitable for Direct Access?
We assess each case to determine its suitability for public access. If we find that your case is not suitable, we will inform you promptly and assist you in finding a suitable solicitor if needed.
Your Role in Direct Access Cases
As a litigant in person, you will carry out certain tasks typically handled by a solicitor. This includes preparing necessary documents and instructions for the barrister. We provide guidance and support throughout the process.
Cost Structure
We provide transparent fee structures in advance. Fees range from £100 to £600 per hour (plus VAT), depending on the nature of the task. We offer both fixed fees for specified work and hourly rates. Our goal is to offer competitive pricing while eliminating unnecessary duplication of fees.
Contractual Agreement
Upon agreeing to the fees, you will receive a Client Care Letter outlining the terms of the contract with the barrister. It is essential to review this contract carefully, as it governs your relationship with the barrister.
Payment Terms
Fees for each task or hearing are paid in advance in accordance with the Client Care Letter.
