International Criminal Law
We boast considerable expertise in international criminal law, with members actively involved in cases before international tribunals and courts such as the International Criminal Court (ICC), the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY), and the Special Court for Sierra Leone (SCSL). Our barristers have extensive experience representing suspects, accused persons, victims of international crimes, governments, witnesses, and amicus applicants.
International Human Rights Law
Our chambers’ members have substantial experience providing legal advice and litigating issues concerning international human rights law. This includes representing clients before key human rights courts and bodies such as the European Court of Human Rights, the African Court and Commission for Human and Peoples’ Rights, the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, and various UN bodies and committees.
International Law in Domestic Courts
Our barristers have a track record of raising issues related to international human rights violations and international crimes before domestic courts. This includes advising on matters such as detention abroad and diplomatic protection, universal jurisdiction, and civil remedies for international crimes.
HUMAN RIGHTS AND CIVIL LIBERTIES
AP Berkeley has extensive experience in domestic human rights and civil liberties matters, including cases involving fair trials, unlawful detention, torture, human trafficking, modern slavery, and children’s rights under the UNCRC.
